Can I use Okta Event hooks with workflows?
If account created in Okta —— lookup email in SF —— if no record add it to SF ——if record tick attribute
I think you can probably do this by eliminating the the 'lookup in SF' piece. Essentially do 'When account created in Okta, Add to SF - (this will fail automatically if acct already exists), then update attribute'
@cal.krome is right, any “create new user” actions would auto fail if the user already exists.
You could also have an If condition based on Okta Dept, so say IF Not in Sales Dept, THEN Add to Sales Dept, allowing Okta to handle Auth/Provisioning on the SSO/IDaaS side of things.
IF Not in Sales Dept
THEN Add to Sales Dept
Several different ways to slice it.
Cool, tbh I'm trying to use workflows for something I dont think it was designed to do
we're going to use Okta to perform auth into a gated content site for our clients
and I want to update their records in SF to include that they registered
and when they log into the service
I think I can do this with event hooks in okta, but maybe I can just connect this other Okta tenant to BC and do a workflow
Ah yea, less ULM and more IPaaS type automation.
Just script it 😉
HAHAH easier said than done
but agreed that's the way I think we're having to go with this
