We're thinking about using File Stream for a handful of users (right now we force everyone to use the web interface). We have a lot of shared drives. Can anyone confirm that there is NOT a way for us to restrict which shared drives are available for File Stream to sync?

I don't believe you can. File Stream will show you exactly what you could see through the standard web interface.

I have more shared drives visible in drive file stream than it does in drive.google.com. haven't had a chance to open a ticket yet.

Also, isn't using SDs with DFS still too inflexible, forcing you do give too high permissions for file editing to work locally?

I'm not sure why they are visible. It's an external shared drive, and it doesn't say they are hidden either. If I right click and open in browser it shows up. Just not in the main shared drive menu

you can hide a shared drive in chrome, but google filestream will always show all drives you have permissions to see. There is not way to customize this

Thanks all - that's what we had found but wanted the extra eyes to make sure we weren't missing something 🙂
