how are those of you on Workspace Business or Enterprise puchasing Chromebooks in bulk? whats the pricing like Vs Retail?
we purchase usually from CDW, and the price is slightly discounted from retail? but we don’t usually buy them in, like, massive quantities… usually no more than a dozen unless we have a large group come up in our replacement cycle.
depending on what models you are looking for, i've found special/discounted pricing from retailers much better.
generally PixelBook Go
I stopped having retail pricing in my head. Since we started reselling them I only see my purchase price 🙈
i've rarely seen PBGo on sale.. so i think distributor maybe offer some discount based on volume, though im not sure how much
It’s funny that @brian.kim recommends buying from retailers because we’ve been buying from his company. Maybe he just buys them on sale at Bestbuy and marks them up before selling them to us.
I kid, I kid.... I’ve found that the lower end ones are available at good prices at retailers but higher spec ones seem to come at better prices when purchased through partners.
Haha I've driven across the border a couple of times. Gotta use that nexus card ;)
Sigh. I remember when my Nexus card used to get used. It hasn’t left the darkness of my wallet since late 2019.
Was 2019 last time I left Ontario??
I don’t think I went in Jan or Feb last year. I travelled to Japan in late Feb and came back and then it was pandemic pandemonium.
Do y’all know about Point Roberts, WA? It’s a small peninsula of that juts South from British Columbia below the 49th parallel. As such, it’s the USA, but only accessible by land by going through Canada. Kids who live there take a school bus across the border 4 times every day to leave Pt Roberts into Canada, drive to the next border crossing and head back into Washington state to get to school. Same thing in reverse at the end of the day. https://youtu.be/ARYL03Dq8cg
Believe it or not, in all the years I lived in the lower mainland, I've never been there!
It’s great for shipping packages to from companies that don’t ship to Canada, or that charge way more to do so. Ubiquiti is one such example! You can also gas up for cheap and buy Olestra-filled products at the weird supermarket there. Of course, under Covid, none of that is happening.
That's too bad! I just want some trader Joe's .
