Oh Kolide K2 is pretty great, it’s not endpoint enforcement but rather tracking of settings

Only works for Debian-based linux distributions however so Arch is out of the question

We're using ubuntu, but I'm looking for remote lock/wipe functionality

chef, puppet, ansible is what i've seen mentioned in macadmins before, though i don't have experience with any

I have heard JumpCloud be recommended before on macadmins

We have jumpcloud. My understanding is that linux is supported but not as robust as windows and mac. I would guess because it’s not terribly common for widespread use.

I was hoping that there was a magic answer. I think we're looking at Manage Engine Desktop Central with Drivestrike on top of that.

Hey @blair I remember someone else mentioning Manage Engine during the live round table yesterday, do you remember? Maybe they could give Clayton some insight into it

Hey @hiram.gonzalez I think it was @shmuelpearl who used it at his current company.

I believe Manage Engine did not have wipe on Linux last time I checked, but would be awesome if it did 😮

Sent via Slack Thread

It does not, which is why we would pair with Drivestrike. Just stinks to have another thing on top.

Hey @hiram.gonzalez we do use ManageEngine but we aren’t managing any Linux devices so I couldn’t say for sure.

Ooh I’d love to know more about this too. I know chef/ansible/puppet are used a lot for linux server state management--curious how helpful they’d be to user endpoints

Right now the best option I can find is Workspace One.

We’re looking at Chef Desktop https://www.chef.io/products/chef-desktop
