How often do you travel for work? For fun? For family?

Answer this question to get one entry into a drawing for one of three mystery prizes, as mentioned here (the rules for the game also live there).

Hi, my name is Yum Darling and I haven’t traveled in WAY TOO LONG.

I used to travel all the time, both inside and out of the US. Visiting family, friends, new and exciting places I’d only read about, etc etc. But even before the global panini, I was kind of in a travel rut. Other than the ridiculous cost of boarding my menagerie, and finding appropriate travel locations for the whole family, the prospect of trying to logistically manage the whole fiasco put me in a tailspin and it never happened.

Be that as it may, I have decided to take my partner somewhere wonderful once we can once again travel safely, and I am open to suggestions and anti-suggestions (is that a thing?). I was thinking we’ll keep it national, but not limiting myself yet.

I’m also looking forward to traveling to the BetterCloud offices and meeting all the wonderful people I get to work with in person, one day!

Travel for work is TBD. I changed jobs during the pandemic and work travel hasn’t yet become a thing. For my last job, I tried to travel at least once a quarter to our other office, since I led a team spread out between our two offices.
Historically I’ve traveled mostly to see family. So far, that’s still been the case, although I’ve got more fun travel lined up in the next few months.

I’m a big fan of travel in general, whether it’s for work, family, or fun. Lack of travel during the pandemic was tough, and I’m happy to be doing more of it now.

So I usually travel to my work regions about 4 times a year (Summer, Fall, Late Winter and Spring). Now if you throw in conferences - I used to travel for those about 3 times a year for work purposes.

For family, we would travel about once every 2-3 months to visit family and friends and we hope to get back to that once my kids are fully vaccinated.

I used to travel at least every quarter to our 3 US offices usually 10-15 total trips a year pre pandemic but more than likely won’t be traveling after the pandemic (got promoted to management).

Traveling for family we make 1-2 trips a year usually one summer trip and either thanksgiving or christmas.

Traveling for fun is difficult with young kids but we usually get 1-2 long weekends a year.

Hi all! I used to travel for work about once a quarter which was more than enough for me! After switching to a company that’s fully remote my travel has gone to zero, which is okay considering the pandemic, but I hope to start traveling with my family again soon!

As others have mentioned, I enjoy traveling, learning about new places, and experiencing different cultures.

I’d attend a conference or two every year, but would rarely travel for work.
I’d travel probably 6-10 times a year for fun.

I haven’t traveled since early 2020.

At my last job I went to a conference or two a year but travel wasn’t part of it. I started a new job a month before everything went crazy, so haven’t even done conferences yet here.

We had a few kids fairly close together and didn’t do too much traveling as there was always a new baby around, but we are finally moving past that stage and did our first family vacation for a week to the Oregon coast this summer. Definitely something we want to do more of as things open up more.

Pre-pandemic, I travelled pretty regularly. My wife & I would make a trip down to Disney World every 6 weeks or so, and we always did a bigger summer vacation somewhere outside of the US.

Now, not so much - I’ve taken 2 trips in the last 2 years, both for work to do some work at one of our other offices.

Hey folks, Terence here, and what a neat idea!

I used to travel a lot more! When I lived in the UK, with mainland Europe so close and travel relatively cheap, I'd be able to leave home quite frequently with very little planning (funny story, I met my wife in a hostel on a last-minute £10 return flight to Riga with Ryanair).

Since emigrating to the US over a decade ago now, travel dwindled to a couple of times a year (for work, conferences and the like), and once every year at the Holidays to go back home to Blighty and spend some time with the fam, eating chocolate and watching bad movies.

My favourite (US) trip so far was a May trip to Yosemite national park, about 7 years ago now. I don't think my eyes could understand that I wasn't looking at a photoshopped picture for most of it!
