Do you think IT should provision more Windows 10 computers?

Looks like there are over 1.3 billion active Windows 10 devices right now. I’ve always liked Macs, but they come at a cost—so would you consider *not* giving employees the option of Windows vs. Mac?

I would not purposefully deploy Windows 10 machines if there wasn’t a business use case for them.

Purchased Mac laptops (not leased) do not come with Accidental Damage Protection (ADP).  If you are not in the business of supporting break and fix, this could be a reason why you would not offer an option as your company would be:

  • absorbing the repair cost,
  • going to a third party to get that type coverage,
  • downloading repair cost to the employee.

you don't have a choice. You get a Chromebook 😅

Could be worse, some folks still refuse to get off Windows 7.  Bless their hearts for when they get hit with ransomware.

We are a strict, Windows 10 only organization.  Enterprise management is so much easier (for us).

Identity, Control, and enforcement of security policies are on one, unified platform when using Windows.  Apple historically has not been enterprise friendly without JAMF (or the like).

Apple needs to get serious about Enterprise.

Plain and simple.

Microsoft, with all its flaws, knows how to do this better than anyone which is why they have been successful all these years.
