When people return to the office and they start doing meetings from their desks instead of going to a conference room, what would be the best way to make sure others around them are not distracted by noise? using better quality headphones? if so, what brand do you recommend? or what are you guys planning to do about it? just curious…

We bought phone booths, even with really good noise canceling it can be really hard to not get distracted by a call. The phone booths were not cheap though

Phone booths that are decent start at $10-15k.

If you’re going with people at their desks, in the interim, I think you’ll be buying them noise cancelling headphones, but they aren’t magic. Apaprently the Anker Soundcore aren’t bad for something like $50, but, many companies give employees an expense stipend to buy noise cancelling headphones, 1 every other year per employee. Might be decent.

If you buy in bulk, you can get a discount from vendors.

I also would recommend the Jabra headsets with over ear (not on ear) headphones with mic. You don’t always need noise cancelling, you can do just as good if not better with noise isolating headphones, and decent headphones will seal off the ears. NC only really works for consistent sounds at certain frequencies, i.e. a plane engine will disappear, but you’ll hear someone tearing into pretzels beside you like it’s the loudest thing on the planet. I would look into noise isolating headsets over noise cancelling.

We did https://zenbooth.net/ and are very happy with them, much cheaper at <4k, I got a local contractor to assemble them for much cheaper than their every overpriced white glove team
